While it is essential to do keyword research analysis for best practice SEO on-page optimization, most major search engines have declared they no longer use the meta keywords tag in their ranking algorithms. When researching keywords for a page, be sure to utilize the most relevant, targeted terms for your industry, service or product. Avoid generalities in keyword targeting - using terms and phrases that are specific enough to attract targeted visitors.

Key Considerations:

• Remove the meta keyword tags from the code as they are no longer necessary.
• Keeping meta keyword tags in code will reveal targeted keywords to competitors. (Do you really want that?)
