An interesting, insightful piece by Paul Worthington - A Control Freak’s Guide to Social Media Influence - a good read!!
Social media marketing can be successfully executed with any business or organization. I’ve worked with clients who, concerned about brand and feeling “out-of-control” with the social media platforms, have shied away from social media altogether.
But it CAN be done if you can think creatively - and outside the box in some instances! And it can be quite powerful for brand and online word-of-mouth buzz.
Till next time,
Valerie

So shame on me… I do not practice what I preach every day to my clients about blogging and building community and relationships thru blogging… I’m not blogging. :o(
Do I want to be? YES. Do I want to expand this element of business? YES. Do I want to build my own social community? YES. So what’s stopping me?
Time.
I did not make any New Year’s Resolutions… and it IS the latter part of March… but stating now, I’m going to attempt to MAKE the time to blog - even if it’s simply the same length as my Twitter posts (follow me on Twitter!)… it will be a good start… and I must practice what I preach - at least, right? :o)
I’m not so ambitious to think that it will be daily, but perhaps 2-3 times/week? And honestly, the industry heavies that blog and Twitter all day long canNOT possibly be doing the hands-on work of a conultant. So that said, I will practice what I preach from this moment forward, but cannot promise blog posts will be long-wnded diatribes about any one topic… but more like Twitter ramblings. :o)
I’m re-committing and on that note, I leave you with:

Till next time,
Valerie

We’ve lost pagerank on this last update and can’t ever really know why - no matter how much we know, how careful and knowledgeable we are… it will always be somewhat unjust and a total mystery.

A great Search Engine Watch article by Mark Jackson. I think we all have a beef with this type of practice… but it certainly happens in every industry. Check out the responses on Sphinn.
